NFC is a very large industrial complex. To meet the customers requirement with respect to quality and quantity in time, keeping safe, healthy and environment friendly culture, various activities are carried out in-house by many services sections to support the production activities. Some of the services sections are as follows.
Administration takes care of personal files of all the employees and maintains a record of leaves, LTC, Medical and also sanctions various types of advances LTC, PF, Festival, House Building, Movable and Immovable properties. Administration also takes care of welfare activities like medical, transport, canteen, creche, housing colony, etc. and ensures industrial harmony.
Accounts takes care of the salaries, payment and recovery of advances, settlement of medical bills, hospital bills and all payments to the suppliers through bank. Also this section makes payments to suppliers and contractors.
Due to very efficient administration & accounts sections, employees remain fully rest assured that they are well taken care and focus on the their activities.
Air Conditioning & Ventilation Section of the group is a unit of dedicated engineers who shoulders the responsibility of designing and executing primary and secondary ventilation projects for process equipments and plant areas of NFC. Entire Fuel Fabrication undergo various stages of processing in which hazardous contaminants like airborne activity of uranium and toxic fumes viz. ammonia and oxides of nitrogen are released. Ventilation Projects ensures that these contaminants are filtered, treated and exhausted through mechanical means in the stack of appropriate height and well contained meeting the prescribed limits of Atomic Energy Regulatory Board and Central and State Pollution Control Boards, using the modern techniques in the field of ventilation.
Civil Engineering Division of NFC is a group of skilled and competent engineers who are looking after the design, construction and maintenance of NFC’s infrastructure of developed building area with special emphasis being given to efficiency and safety of systems deployed for developing and maintaining the infrastructure.
Every structure be it an industrial shed, chemical plants, office buildings, Hydraulic Structures, Waste Management Infrastructure, Residential and Assembly building utmost consideration is given for construction environment while choosing sites, planning structures and selecting construction materials to protect them from natural and environmental hazards.
Structural stability and health check up of building is carried out as per time frame and necessary preventive maintenance is carried out so that structure can perform well during its intended life.
For meeting the future requirements of Indian nuclear program, NFC is taking up various capital projects and CED plays a vital role in inception to creation of these projects.
The residential colonies are well maintained to provide a serene environment to NFC employees.
Green cover for the whole area including lush green gardens, trees along roads and in house nursery is maintained in the NFC campuses.
The division takes care of all the IT needs of NFC. As many function and system are unique to NFC, specialized and customized IT packages are developed / ordered, tested and deployed by the division.
Electrical projects and Power Distribution Section consisting of well qualified engineers and staff takes care of all the electrical power requirements right from the design to commissioning of the projects and day to day maintenance and uninterrupted electrical power supply. All the load centers and DG sets to handle emergency electrical power supply during power cut off from state electricity board are looked after by this section.
NFC has trained competent and dedicated fire services manpower available for 24X7 services with fully equipped Fire Station and fire tenders. The Fire Services Section ensures fire prevention, firefighting preparedness and attends to firefighting calls, gas leakages, rescue calls and other emergencies of various plants in NFC and nearby industries and areas.
Entire NFC area is having Fire Hydrant network, field deployed portable fire extinguishers, automatic clean agent fire suppression systems and Fire Detection and Alarm Systems (FDAS).
As a part of fire prevention, Fire Services section conducts fire safety awareness classes to the all regular and contractors’ employees. It carries out Fire Safety Inspections of all the plants. Also, the section conducts mock drills and provides stand by duty for activities having fire hazards.
Every year, NFC celebrates the Fire Service week to increase fire safety awareness. During this week, fire safety awareness competitions are conducted among employees, schools children and contractors’ workmen and evacuation drills are also conducted.
Each group is having dedicated expert maintenance crew consisting of electrical, mechanical, electronics & instrumentation branches, to keep all the equipments and services in healthy and running condition. They are responsible for break down maintenance, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance and spares management.
Purchase procures vast variety of all the raw materials, consumables, spares and equipments requirement of NFC Plants through manual and e-tendering process transparently. Stores section receives all the material and equipment and allots the same to the plants as per their requirement.
NFC has dedicated telephone exchange as well as dedicated BSNL telephone lines for effective and efficient communication. The section look after all internal telephone needs.
This section is responsible for design and manufacture of tools for various machines for hot work and cold work applications of various alloys. The section has very advance machinery and expertise to make various tools with high accuracy.
This section provides all the utility services like compressed air, steam, cooling water, drinking water, etc. required by production plants.
The work shop provides services to Maintenance sections, Engineering Services & Production Plants. The main activities include repairing the damaged parts / modifying the components / fabrication and manufacturing of new equipments. It also caters to the development of drawings for critical parts of any machinery for in house / indigenous fabrication, modification of the existing drawings for any change and upkeep of the machinery.
