Another 13-storey residential building ‘TRISHUL’ housing Type-III quarters and a state-of-the-art hospital ‘AAYUSHMAAN’ were inaugurated on 12th November, 2025 at the NFC-Kota township, marking developments to enhance quality of life and support the township’s growing community. Also, newly constructed General Manager’s bungalow ‘INDRAPRASTHA’ was inaugurated.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Shri D Subba Rao, Site Director (NPCIL RR Site) along with Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC, Shri D Sreedhar, Dy. As part of Vigilance Awareness Campaign - 2025, “DAE Vigilance Conclave @ Hyderabad” was jointly organized by the units of Department of Atomic Energy located at Hyderabad i.e., NFC, EClL, AMD, TIFR, NCCCM-BARC at Nuclear Fuel Complex, Hyderabad on 29/10/2025.
Smt. Yashashri Shukla, Additional Secretary, Central Vigilance Commission (IP&TA&FS 1996) inaugurated the programme as a Chief Guest and addressed the gathering. Smt. Shukla in her address stated the importance of preventive vigilance in combating corruption.
Dr. Ajit Kumar Mohanty, Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission and Secretary, Department of Atomic Energy in his message on this occasion stated that India’s goal is to achieve full energy Independence by 2047.
Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC in his address to the gathering stated that “Corruption is an obstacle in the growth of the nation and vigilance is a tool for maintaining honesty, integrity and adherence to strong moral principles in all our actions. NFC is a front runner in the Department for demonstrating Atmanirbhar Bharat”.
Shri Anurag Kumar, CMD, ECIL while addressing the gathering on the occasion stated that sensitizing employees is an important aspect of preventive vigilance.
On this occasion, Dr. Anupam Sharma, Distinguished Scientist & Director, DSP, DRDO has also addressed the gathering while Shri P. Subrahmanyam, Dy. Supdt. Of Police, CBI and Shri Bharat Bhushan Verma, Dy. CEO and CVO, GeM, New Delhi have delivered the talks.

The G P Birla Archaeological Astronomical and Scientific Research Institute (GPBAASRI) had created "ATMANIRBHAR BHARAT – GALLERY OF NFC", at the B.M. Birla Science Centre, Hyderabad, as part of India’s commitment to scientific self-reliance.
The Gallery was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr. Ajit Kumar Mohanty, Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) & Secretary, Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) on October 22, 2025.
This momentous occasion was held in the esteemed presence of Smt. Nirmala Birla, Chairperson – GPBAASRI, organized under the guidance of Dr. K. Mruthyunjaya Reddy, Director – GPBAASRI.
The 'ATMANIRBHAR BHARAT – GALLERY OF NFC' was dedicated for showcasing the remarkable progress and achievements of NFC and its pivotal role in establishing India’s independence in the complete nuclear fuel cycle. The gallery is a testament to the Nation’s technological prowess and the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, inspiring future generations of scientists and engineers.
Following the inauguration, Dr. Mohanty delivered prestigious "G P Birla Memorial Lecture" titled “The Breakthrough Prize for Fundamental Physics: India at the Frontiers of Basic Science”. The talk explored the landmark achievements connected to India’s growing leadership in global mega-science.
The event attracted the distinguished audience including senior officials, scientists and researchers from various departments and that of DAE. Notable attendees includes Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chief Executive of NFC; Shri. Umesh D. First high Residual Resistivity Ratio (RRR) Niobium sheet indigenously produced at NFC was handed over by Dr. A K Mohanty, Chairman, AEC & Secretary, DAE to Dr. U D Malshe, Director, RRCAT in the presence of Dr. Vivek Bhasin, Director, BARC, Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chief Executive, NFC, Dr. Sumit Som, Director, VECC & other senior officials of Department of Atomic Energy, on October 22, 2025.
High RRR Niobium is a critical material required for a range of advanced accelerator programs aimed at strengthening India’s capabilities in nuclear energy, materials research and critical applications. Currently, high-RRR Nb is sourced entirely from a few international vendors. NFC has successfully developed the critical technology for production of high RRR Niobium ingots and sheets. This development has positioned India among a select group of nations with the capability to produce, process, and qualify high-RRR Nb for cutting-edge accelerator applications. The indigenous development of high-RRR niobium marks a major milestone towards achieving technological self-reliance in India’s superconducting accelerator infrastructure, boosting high-tech manufacturing and produce tangible benefits in energy, healthcare, and industrial applications. Also, it is India’s long-term leadership in superconducting accelerator science and technology.

Marking a significant milestone in the India’s Civil Nuclear power program, NFC on 11th September 2025, flagged off the 8th set of Steam Generator (SG) tubes for the upcoming 700 MWe indigenous Pressurised Heavy Water Reactors, being set up by Nuclear Power Corporation India Ltd. under fleet mode. The consignment was flagged off by Shri Anil V. Parab, Whole-time Director and Member of L&T Board - Heavy Engineering Construction Equipment & Industrial Product Design Development, L&T in the presence of Shri S.B. Chafle, Executive Director, Atomic Energy Regulatory Board and Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chief Executive, NFC.
The set is manufactured, tested and inspected to the stringent quality standards at the state-of-the-art facilities at NFC, one of its kind in the country, under the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat Mission of the Government of India.
Cycle time for manufacturing one complete set of SG tubes is a record minimum period of 3 months, thereby establishing a new benchmark for production of such critical tubing for nuclear applications in India, on par with international standards.

NFC and Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) have jointly organized a Workshop on “Standardization and Uniformity in Methodology for Medical Examination of Occupational Workers in DAE Units” on 11th September 2025 at NFC, Hyderabad.
The Chief Guest of the event was Shri S.B. Chafle, Distinguished Scientist and Executive Director, AERB. Shri Chafle in his address while talking about impact of climate change, stressed upon importance of Government of India’s commitment for achieving “Net Zero by 2070” and its significance on health of persons for better performance. He stated that health and safety are not negotiable and spread of awareness helps for better work environment.
The Presidential Address was given by Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chief Executive, NFC emphasizing upon maintenance of wellbeing of employees at workplace through automation, process modifications, following of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and compliance with good manufacturing practices. Dr P.T.V. Nair, Chairman, Occupational Health and Safety Committee (OHSC), AERB has given an overview on OHS related issues. Dr. Diptendu Das, Member Secretary, OHSC, AERB underlined the significance of safety aspects of Occupational Health.
More than 100 delegates, including Heads of Units, senior officers of NFC, Certifying Surgeons and Paramedical staff from all DAE units and its aided institutions have participated in the event. Presentations on topics like Occupational Injuries, Prevention & Rehabilitation, Approach to Eye Injury cases, Importance of Psychological Assessment in Pre-Employment Check-up (PEC), Vascular Disease in various Occupations, were made by eminent speakers during the Workshop.

79th Independence Day was jointly celebrated by NFC-Kota and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on 15.08.2025. Shri. S.K. Pathak, Project Director & DCE, NFC, Kota (officiating) graced the occasion as Chief Guest and hoisted the National Flag.
Employees and Stipendiary trainees actively participated in the Cultural Programme organized as a part of the event.
A large number of senior officials, employees, stipendiary trainees and colony residents attended the programme.

NFC has celebrated 79th Independence Day on August 15, 2025. Commemorating the event, Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC had hoisted the National Flag as the Chief Guest. The parade was inspected by Chief Executive in the presence of Commandant, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Further, demonstration of the dog squad and Special Taskforce drill was performed by CISF.
During the event, Chief Executive has promulgated the importance of Independence Day and outlined the developmental activities & achievements made by Department of Atomic Energy in general and Nuclear Fuel Complex in particular. Dr. Kapoor encouraged and motivated the school children to strive hard in achieving greater heights in their career.
Atomic Energy Central School students have enthusiastically participated in the Cultural Programme organized as a part of the event.

SC Rights Protection Society (SCRPS), NFC has organized “Pay-back to society” program, and donated books, bags, lunch plate, glass, water bottle and sports material to the students of Mandal Parishad Primary School, Subashnagar, Mallapur, Medchal-Malkajgiri District.
Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman &Chief Executive, NFC was the Chief Guest for the program. Dr. Kapoor spoke about the importance of the education and advised the students to work hard and attain high positions in the society. The Chief Guest also appreciated the teachers of MPPS for taking initiative for improving the facilities at the school premises and also the efforts of SC Rights Protection Society, NFC for organising “Pay-back to society” program for the upliftment of weaker section community.

The 101st Birth Anniversary of Dr. N. Kondal Rao, the first Chief Executive of NFC was commemorated on 15th July 2025. The event was jointly organised by NFC and the Indian Society for Non-destructive Testing (ISNT), Hyderabad Chapter, in honour of the memory of a visionary who laid the foundation of India’s integrated nuclear fuel manufacturing facility.
Dr. V. Narayanan, Secretary (Department of Space) & Chairman (Space Commission) graced the occasion as Chief Guest and delivered a compelling lecture on “Indian Space Programme – Challenges & Future Perspectives”. ISNT Hyderabad Chapter conferred the prestigious Dr. N. Kondal Rao Memorial Award – 2025 on Dr. V. Narayanan for his stellar contributions to space research and development. Dr. J. R. Joshi, DG (DRDO) & CEO (BRAHMOS); Dr. S. V. S. Narayana Murthy, CMD (MIDHANI) and Shri G. Surya Prakash, Chairman (ISNT-Hyderabad Chapter) & CEO (AES) graced the occasion. The programme was attended by many officers of NFC, Hyderabad & MIDHANI and ISNT members. Officials from other two units of NFC at Pazhayakayal and Rawatbhata joined the lecture through online mode. The event was also graced by many Former Chief Executives of NFC.
As part of the growing collaboration between DAE and DoS, Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC, handed over to Dr. Narayanan the first charge of the special materials developed at a dedicated facility jointly set up by NFC and Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC). Additionally, a certificate for the special alloy tubes under supply to VSSC was also presented.

A Special Hindi Workshop for Officers of Admin & Accounts was organised on 10th July, 2025 on the topic “Discussion on new Inspection Questionnaire of Committee of Parliament on Official Language” at NFC, Hyderabad.
Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC, graced the inaugural session as the Chief Guest. In his address, he urged all the officers to increase the use of Hindi in day-to-day office work with the help of IT tools such as e-office, Translation tool ‘Kanthasth’, which are available on the office intranet.
Shri Achleshwar Singh, Director (Official Language), DAE, Mumbai delivered the main lecture. Shri J. Srinivas, Dy. Director (OL) and Smt. Kunjan Tripathi, Asst. Director (OL) discussed topics such as e-Office, Kanthasth Translation Tool and Hindi Report. A total of 25 officers of Administration and Accounts Cadres participated in this Hindi workshop.

A team of 6 fire services personnel of NFC participated in ‘3rd All India Fire Service Sports and Fire Service Meet’ from 28.02.2025 to 02.03.2025 at Delhi organized by FS, CD & HG, Ministry of Home Affairs. Shri Sudhir Kumar Sharma, Dy Chief Fire Officer, NFC won Bronze medal in ‘Ultimate Firefighter’ - Individual competition. Shri Sharma was also nominated to participate in the ‘World Police & Fire Games’ (WPFG) held at Birmingham, Alabama, USA from 27 June - 06 July 2025. In these games, Shri Sharma has won Bronze medal in ‘Firefighter Challenge’ - Hybrid Age 50-59, Male Team among about 8500 participants of Police & Fire Departments from 80 Countries.

International Day of Yoga 2025 was celebrated at all units of Nuclear Fuel Complex. As a part of this, programme was organized at NFC, Hyderabad for all employees, CISF personnel, AECS students and residents of DAE housing colony. Dr. A.L.V. Kumar, Senior Manager, NFC and also a renowned Yoga teacher explained the importance of Yoga in our lives and demonstrated various yet simple yoga Asanas which were practised by all the enthusiasts present.

11th International Day of Yoga was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Nuclear Fuel Complex-Kota. The theme for this year’s yoga day was “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” which aligns with the idea of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”.
A renowned yoga instructor, Shri Laadu Laal Rathore guided employees and trainees along with CISF personnel to perform various yogasanas. Finally the participants were addressed by Shri RVRL Visweswara Rao, General Manager, NFC-Kota as he emphasized the importance of practicing yoga in daily life and the overall well being, whether it is mental or physical, associated with it.

NFC Day 2025 was celebrated marking 52 years since the production of its first nuclear fuel bundle in June 1973.
The celebrations, held on 6 June 2025, were graced by Dr. R.B Grover, Member, Atomic Energy Commission, as Chief Guest, and Dr. S.V.S. Narayana Murthy, CMD Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited, as Guest of Honor.
Under the leadership of Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC the celebrations highlighted NFC’s unwavering contribution to Atma Nirbha Bharat through self-reliance in nuclear fuel fabrication, with significant advancements in automation and mechanisation of thrust areas.
A special note of pride was the update on NFC-Kota, which has achieved a remarkable physical progress, with production of fuel tubes already underway, and full commissioning of all fuel modules expected later this year.
Former Chief Executives of NFC, dignitaries and employees came together to celebrate this legacy. The event also saw the release of the special magazine “NFC highlights 2025”.
As a part of the celebrations, on 05/06/2025, many new indigenously developed equipments, automated equipments, revamped equipments and facilities were inaugurated by Dr. Kapoor.

NFC has observed the National Fire Service Week. On 14th April Banners & Posters were displayed at various locations. Fire Tender with crew made a round in all the plants and DAE colony for awareness to the public. Paid homage to the Martyr’s at Fire station.
During the week fire safety quiz, poster, spot the fire hazard, slogan (Hindi, Telugu and English) and Essay (Hindi, Telugu, English) competitions were conducted for employees. Various fire drill competitions were conducted for fire service personnel. Hose laying drill competition was conducted for CISF employees. The fire safety quiz, poster, slogan (Hindi, English) and Essay (Hindi, English) competition was conducted for students of Atomic Energy Central School-1 & 2. Fire safety quiz competitions among the contract workers also conducted.
Valedictory function was held on 26th April at Fire Station. Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC gave key note address and distributed the prizes to the winners of various competitions and plants on the basis of fire safety inspection. Shri M Seenaiah, GM(M-Zr, Utls & SR) has distributed prizes to the students of Atomic Energy Central School.

134th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was celebrated at NFC. Dr. N. Siddoji Rao, Convener of IAS/IPS Officers Forum was the Chief Guest and Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman and Chief Executive, NFC was the Guest of Honour.
Dr. N. Siddoji Rao spoke about the contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar for the up-liftment of poor and down trodden community and in making modern India.
Dr. Komal Kapoor spoke about the contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in drafting the Indian Constitution and about women empowerment.
The senior officials of NFC, Representatives of SC/ST Associations and various Unions / Associations of NFC have spoke about the contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Employees in large numbers have participated in the celebrations and paid rich tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

World Health Day was celebrated on 07.04.2025 at NFC, Hyderabad on the theme “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures”. Dr Aditya Kapoor, MBBS, MS(Ortho), MRCS(Edin), Sr. Consultant Orthopedic & Trauma Surgeon, Director, Orthopedics Department, Omega Hospitals, Hyderabad was the Chief Guest and Shri R.N. Jayaraj, Former Chairman and Chief Executive, NFC was Guest of Honour.
Shri V.V. Mahesh Kumar, Dy. Chief Executive (Safety, HPU, TLD & HR) & President, NUFCOA welcomed the gathering.
Dr Aditya Kapoor has delivered a scintillating talk on “Healthy bones and joints in elderly” with clinical examples.
Dr. Komal Kapoor while addressing the gathering emphasized on better health for everyone. He appreciated the talk given by Dr Aditya Kapoor which highlighted basic health issues facing by various persons w.r.t bones.
On this occasion, Shri Jayaraj was felicitated by Dr. Komal Kapoor. Shri Jayaraj congratulated Dr. Komal Kapoor and medical team of NFC for the efforts taken to create awareness on health among employees and beneficiaries though various camps and programmes. Shri Jayaraj appreciated efforts of all the employees of NFC from various categories in implementing new developments, automations and continuously achieving the higher production.

Shri Muthukrishnan Sankaranarayanan, Joint Secretary (Finance), Department of Atomic Energy visited NFC-Kota on 27th March, 2025.
He was accompanied by Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman and Chief Executive, NFC and senior officers to various plants of NFC-Kota. He interacted with officials of NFC-Kota as he walked through the plant facilities. He inaugurated the “Pickling & Cleaning Shop”.
On this occasion, the consignment of fuel bundles manufactured at NFC-Kota was flagged off by JS(F), DAE in the presence of Station Director, NPCIL, RR Site along with senior NFC officials.
Shri Sankaranarayanan also visited ‘Parmanu Gram’, the NFC-Kota township, under development at Rawatbhata, where he inaugurated the Main Gate and several other buildings.

54th National Safety Day was celebrated in Nuclear Fuel Complex, Hyderabad. The theme as announced by the National Safety Council of India was “Safety and Well-Being Crucial for Viksit Bharat”. The celebrations at NFC highlighted the importance of vigilance in work area and following of procedures for prevention of injuries.
Shri P. Shyam Sunder, GM (Safety) welcomed the gathering. Shri V.V. Mahesh Kumar, Dy. Chief Executive (Safety, HPU, TLD & HR) briefed about the NFC safety performance. The gathering was also addressed by office bearers of various unions and associates.
Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman and Chief Executive, NFC delivered the keynote address.
Later, prizes were distributed to the plants for their contribution in following best safe practices and housekeeping. During safety day campaign, various safety competitions like quiz, spot the hazards, slogan and essay writing in Telugu, Hindi and English; drawing of poster contests were organized for the employees. Prizes were distributed to the winners of competitions.
On this occasion, Shri M.V. Ramana, DCE (FT, RMA & SSTP) & Member (Safety Committee - Local), NFC superannuating in March 2025, was felicitated by Chairman & Chief Executive.
Dr. Komal Kapoor launched the “Safety e-applications portal”. The portal consists of Application & Record Management on Testing of Pressure Vessels and Load Test of Lifting Machines / Tools / Tackles. The portal will help in ease of operations, data tracing, automatic alerts, etc.

International Women’s Day was celebrated at all units of Nuclear Fuel Complex, Hyderabad & Kota Sites and Zirconium Complex, Pazhayakayal. As a part of this, talk on ‘Role of Women for building Modern World’ was delivered at NFC, Hyderabad by Smt. Balalatha, Former IAS officer &Former Deputy Director for Ministry of Defence. Cultural programs and games were organized. Also, Eye-Check up camp was organized at NFC, Hyderabad. Many senior women officials of NFC also attended the events. At NFC-Kota, an invited lecture on 'Women health' by Dr. Shachi Shukla, Sr. Consultant Gynaecologist, RAPS Hospital was arranged which was attended by most of the women employees of NFC, Kota site.

Shri Prashant Kumar Boriwal, ADM (Safety) welcomed the gathering. This was followed by brief addresses on safety by senior officers of NFC-Kota. The keynote address was delivered by Shri D. Sreedhar, Chief Engineer & Dy. Chief Executive (CED, PD & EP), NFC. Later, prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions organised during safety day campaign.
Smt. Disha Acharya, DM (Safety) presented the vote of thanks. The programme was concluded with collective singing of the National Anthem.

Swachhata Pakhwada was observed from 16.02.2025 to 28.02.2025 in all units of Nuclear Fuel Complex located at Hyderabad, Pazhayakayal and Rawatbhata.
As a part of enhancing awareness on Swachhata activities, walkathon was organized. The event at ZC was graced by Dr. Komal Kapoor (Chairman and Chief Executive, NFC) along with senior officers.
At NFC, Hyderabad, Dr. Komal Kapoor along with many senior officers and many other enthusiastic employees participated in the walkathon.
A newly made rain water harvesting pit was inaugurated by Dr. Komal Kapoor.
Around 321 trees were planted by dignitaries and many other employees of NFC, Hyderabad along the banks of newly made pit.

Nuclear Fuel Complex organized XXXIX DAE Sports & Cultural Meet – Cricket tournament from February, 4th to 8th, 2025 at Dr. N. Kondal Rao Cricket Stadium, NFC and Cricket Ground, ECIL. The tournament was inaugurated on 04-02-2024 by Chief Guest Shri Ajay Ramesh Sule (Additional Secretary, DAE, Mumbai and President, DAE Sports & Cultural Council), Guest of Honour Shri C. Anurag Kumar (Chairman & Managing Director, ECIL) and Dr. Komal Kapoor (Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC).
Eight DAE teams viz. Golkonda, Rameshwaram, Pushkar, Nagarjuna, Ajanta, Ellora, Dwaraka and Konark participated in the tournament.
Semi finals were played between Ajanta & Dwarka and Golconda & Rameshwarmat. Rameshwaram won the tournament by beating Dwaraka in the final.
The chief Guest of the Valedictory function Dr B.K. Sapra (Head, Radiological physics & advisory Division and Secretary, DAE S & CC) gave the prizes. Other dignitaries were Shri D. Sreedhar (Chief Engineer & Dy. Chief Executive, NFC and Chairman, Organising committee), Shri M.V. Ramana (Dy. Chief Executive, NFC and Chairman, Works Committee), Shri M. Shiva Kumar, Dy. Chief Executive, NFC Convener (Tournament Committee), Smt M Rajasri (Convener, Reception, Ground Prep., Transport & Accommodation Committee), and Shri Navin Dubey (Asst. General Manager, NFC and Convener, Catering Committee). Many senior officers and representatives from unions and associations of NFC attended the program. All the matches were witnessed and enjoyed thoroughly by huge audience.

76th Republic Day was celebrated at all 3 units of Nuclear Fuel Complex. National flags were unfurled by Dr. Komal Kapoor (Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC), Shri Periasamy (General manager, Zirconium Complex, Pazahaykayal), Shri. G.N.Ganesha (Sr. General Manager, NFC-Kota) at Hyderabad, Pazahaykayal and Rawatbhata sites respectively. Patriotic songs and presentations were made by employees and students of Atomic Energy Central Schools (AECS). Safety demonstrations were made by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel.

World Hindi Day was celebrated with grandeur on 10.01.2025 at NFC.
Chief Guest of the function Dr. Komal Kapoor (Chairman and Chief Executive, NFC); Guest of Honor & Invited Speaker Shri B.M. Sinha (General Manager - SH&E, Heavy Water Board, Mumbai) and Shri B.V. Balaji (Chief Administrative Officer, NFC) graced the dais.
At the outset, Shri B.V. Balaji welcomed the guests, dignitaries and the audience present at the function. Dr. Komal Kapoor delivered the presidential address.
On this occasion, Dr. Komal Kapoor inaugurated “Kanthasth 2.0” an instant translation tool developed by C-DAC, Pune for instant translation from English to Hindi and vice versa. This marks a new milestone in the implementation of Official Language at NFC.
The Hindi version of NFC’s Corporate Film was also released and broadcast, during this function.
Thereafter, Shri B.M. Sinha delivered a technical talk in Hindi on the topic “Heavy Water Technologies and Diversified Activities”.
The certificates and prizes were distributed by the Chief Guest and the Guest of honor to the winners of various Rajbhasha competitions organized during Hindi Pakhwada-2024.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri J. Srinivas (Deputy Director -Official Language, NFC) followed by national anthem. The program was compered by Smt. Kunjan Tripathi (Assistant Director - Official Language, NFC).
Also, plantation of a tree sapling was carried out in the garden by the hands of Shri B.M. Sinha in the presence of Dr. Komal Kapoor and other senior officers of NFC.
The function was attended by the Officers and Staff Members of NFC, Hyderabad. The Officers and employees of Zirconium Complex, Pazhayakayal and NFC-Kota also joined and witnessed the function through video conferencing.

Shri M Venkatesan, Chairman, National Commission for Safai Karamcharis, Government of India visited NFC on 17th December 2024. At arrival, he was given Guard of Honor by Central Industrial Security Force. Quality Month Celebrations 2024 with the theme “Quality: From Compliance to Performance” started at Nuclear Fuel Complex by a lecture on 08/11/2024.
Dr. V. Narayanan, Director, Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre, ISRO was the Chief guest of the program and delivered a key note address on importance of quality in various stages of activities, achievements and future programs of ISRO.
Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman and Chief Executive, NFC appreciated the efforts of the NFCIANs in following the stringent quality norms at various levels of production and delivering the high quality products.

Supporting the government initiative, Swachha Bharat Mission, all the 3 units of NFC actively participated and Observed Swachhata Hi Seva and also conducted as special campaign on the eve of Commemoration of Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Mahatma Gandhiji with a theme of ‘Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath’.
NFC has organized various activities like Shramdaan, Plantation Drive, Walkathon and awareness programmes at NFC-Hyderabad, ZC-Pazhayakayal and NFC-Kota. Large numbers of employees have actively participated in all the events. Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC led the campaign and encourage employees to participate in the events.

As a part of the Vigilance Awareness Campaign-2024, a lecture on “The role of courts in service matters” was organized on 28.09.2024.
Dr. (Smt) Lata Baswaraj Patne, Hon’ble Member (Judicial) & HOD, CAT was the Chief Guest of the programme and she delivered a key notes on rights of employees, roles of tribunal in service matters, procedures in approaching tribunal, timelines in resolving the issues etc. The program was attended by many employees along with senior officials.
Dr. Nitin Bhanudas Jawle, IAS, Director (Vigilance), DAE was the Guest of Honour and has delivered a message on importance of good ethics, corruption free environment and vigilance practices.
Other eminent speaker Shri Vasireddy Vinod Kumar, Counsel, CAT has explained service cases received by CAT with examples.

Dr. Ajit Kumar Mohanty, Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission and Secretary of the Department of Atomic Energy, visited NFC-Kota on September 27, 2024.
Dr. Mohanty was accompanied by Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman and Chief Executive, NFC to various plants of NFC-Kota. He reviewed the status of commissioning activities and was briefed regarding the campaigns planned at NFC-Kota. He closely interacted with NFC-Kota officials as he walked through the plant facilities.
On this occasion, the third consignment of fuel bundles manufactured at NFC-Kota was flagged off to Rajasthan Atomic Power Plant -7 by Dr. Mohanty in the presence of Shri Ranjay Sharan, Director-Projects (NPCIL), Shri L C Lodha, GM (HWP-Kota) along with NFC officials.
Dr. Mohanty also unveiled a 100-feet tall national flagpole installed at Nuclear Fuel Complex, Kota.

SC Rights Protection Society (SCRPS), NFC as a part of its “Pay-Back to Society” activities has organized a program and donated school books, bags, water bottles, sports kits and other required material to the students of Mandal Parishad Primary School, Gabbilalpet, Jawaharnagar, Medchal-Malkajgiri District.

78th Independence Day was celebrated at NFC-Hyderabad, Zirconium Complex-Pazhayakayal and NFC-Kota on 15.08.2024. Senior Officials and employees of NFC, Students, Parents, Teachers and Principals of Atomic Energy Central Schools (AECS), members from Union & Associations and staff of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) attended the celebrations in large numbers. Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive, Shri. M. Periyasamy, General Manager, Shri. Kannan Sudhakar, Chief Adminstrative Officer unfurled the National flag at NFC-Hyderabad, Zirconium Complex-Pazhayakayal and NFC-Kota respectively. The colourful program was organised with spellbound performances of patriotic dances and songs by students of AECS at Hyderabad and Pazhayakayal. CISF and Fire Service personnel demonstrated Parade and performances which were very remarkable.

On this occasion Dr. Anil Kakodkar (Member [Atomic Energy Commission], former Chairman [AEC], former Secretary [DAE], Chancellor [HBNI] and Chairman [RGST] was Chief Guest. He delivered keynote lecture on "Managing India's Energy security in the midst of climate change threat".
A quarterly Newsletter of ISNT Issue no.04, July 2024 was released.
Shri R Gopal from NFC was presented “Dr. N Kondal Rao Young NDT Professional Award” for his contributions in the field of NDT.
Dr. Anil Kakodkar has been conferred with the prestigious “Dr. N Kondal Rao Memorial Award” for the year 2024 by ISNT in recognition of his outstanding contribution in the field of Nuclear Energy.
Former Chairman and Chief Executives of NFC were felicitated by Dr. Anil Kakodkar. They shared their memories while working with Dr. Kondal Rao.
Sons of Dr. N Kondal Rao, Shri N Sreedhar and Shri N Prabhakar along with other family members attended the celebrations and they were felicitated by Dr. Anil Kakodkar.

On July 12th, 2024, Dr. Ajit Kumar Mohanty, Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission and Secretary of the Department of Atomic Energy, visited NFC-Hyderabad. Upon his arrival, he was received by Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman and Chief Executive, NFC. Additionally, Dr. Ajit Kumar Mohanty was honored with a Guard of Honor by the Central Industrial Security Force.
Dr. Ajit Kumar Mohanty along with Dr. Komal Kapoor had garlanded the busts of Dr. Homi J. Bhabha, Dr. N. Kondal Rao and Dr. Vikram Sarabhai. He had an interaction with Dr. Komal Kapoor along with senior officials of NFC and reviewed the status of production and projects.
Dr. Ajit Kumar Mohanty was accompanied by Dr. Komal Kapoor to various plants. He was briefed about the various products, production activities and quality aspects.

An official language inspection and training programme was organized at Zirconium Complex (ZC), Pazhayakayal from 18th to 22nd June, 2024.
Thorough inspection of ZC was carried out and stock of the status of compliance of the Official Language Policy in the rest of the premises was taken.
On 19th June, 2024, during the meeting with senior officers of ZC, Shri Achaleshwar Singh, Director (Official Language), DAE, Mumbai informed about the major provisions of the Official Language Policy and requested to take necessary steps for effective implementation.
Two separate Hindi workshops were organized on 20th and 21st June, 2024 for officers and staff of ZC, Pazhayakayal. Shri Achaleshwar Singh, Director(OL), DAE, Mumbai delivered lectures and interacted with the participants. Smt Kunjan Tripathi, Assistant Director (OL), NFC also delivered lectures at the workshop and demonstrated the posture method of use of Hindi especially in e-office which was specially appreciated by all the officers. Large number of officers and staff attended the workshops and actively participated in the discussions throughout the workshop.
The Director (Official Language), DAE, Mumbai was impressed by the fact that there was enthusiasm among all the officers and staff regarding implementation of Official Language. He specifically appreciated that all name plates and signboards including inscriptions have been prepared in bilingual form.
Smt. Sangeeta Nakhwa, Administrative Officer-III, NFC also took part in the Inspection and the Workshop.

10th International day of Yoga on the theme “ Yoga for Self & Society” was celebrated in Nuclear Fuel Complex, Hyderabad & Kota and Zirconium Complex on 21st June 2024. International Day of Yoga celebrations at NFC emphasized the dual impact of yoga on personal health and social well-being, recognizing the profound interconnectedness between individual and collective health, thus promoting yoga as a tool for personal growth and societal betterment.
On this occasion, Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive of NFC expressed greetings to all the employees and participants. He advised all the participants to have a healthier lifestyle by integrating yoga into daily routines. He welcomed chief guest of the event, Shri Vilas Penurkar who was Associated with Bhartiya Yog Sansthan for the last 25 yrs.
Chief Guest Shri Vilas Penurkar, Sr. Yoga teacher emphasized the importance of the yoga on well-being, mindfulness, ethical living, and community support. He and his team has conducted a wonderful yoga practice session involving various Asanas and Mudras. He has interacted with the participants and guided them for the correct postures during yoga practice.
Employees and their family members, School Children from AECS-I & II, CISF etc., were participated in large number whose active involvement and enthusiasm have truly made this event a grand success.

World Environment Day, 2024 was celebrated at NFC on 05.06.2024. The theme of this year’s celebration is ‘Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience.’ Special lecture by Dr. A.K. Tyagi (Dean & Senior Professor, HBNI & Honorary Professor, JNCASR, Bengaluru) was arranged. Various competitions were conducted to increase awareness on the event and awards were distributed to prize winners.

Dr R Chidambaram, Former Chairman (Atomic Energy Commission) & Former Chairman (Scientific Advisory Committee to the Cabinet) has visited NFC Hyderabad on 22nd May 2024. He was received by Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman and Chief Executive, NFC and had interaction with senior officers of NFC. Later, he visited plants of NFC and he was briefed about various operations of production& quality assurance. At the end of the visit, tree planation was carried.

The very first of the bunch of residential towers planned at NFC-Kota township, twin towers named ‘Aravali’ and ‘Mount Abu’ were inaugurated on 17th May, 2024.
Both of these 13-storeyed buildings are the tallest buildings in Rawatbhata.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Shri B C Pathak, Chairman & Managing Director (NPCIL) in the presence of Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chief Executive (NFC), Shri K Mahapatra, Director (DCSEM), Shri D Sreedhar, Dy. Chief Executive (NFC), Shri P A Pratap, Project Director & Dy. Chief Executive (NFC-Kota) and Shri Vinayak M Bhat, Dy. Chief Engineer (NFC).
Central Control Room of Oxide Plant Module-1 and Sintering Control Room of Module-2 under PFFF, NFC-Kota were also inaugurated.

NFC has observed the National Fire Service Week. During the week Banners & Posters were displayed at various locations. Fire Tender with crew made a round in all the plants and DAE colony for awareness to the public.
Various awareness competitions were conducted. The fire safety quiz, poster, spot the fire hazard, slogan (Hindi, Telugu and English) and Essay (Hindi, Telugu, English) competitions were conducted for employees. Various fire drill competitions were conducted for fire service employees. Hose laying drill competition was conducted for CISF employees. The fire safety quiz, poster, slogan (Hindi, English) and Essay (Hindi, English) competition was conducted for students of Atomic Energy Central School. Fire safety quiz competition was also conducted among the contract works. Fire theme park and new fire tender were inaugurated by Chairman & CE, NFC.
Valedictory function was held on 16th April 2024. Shri Sudhir Kumar Sharma, DCFO has welcomed gathering and Shri M Seenaiah, GM gave brief report on Fire Service activities of 2023. Representatives of unions and associations gave attractive speech on fire safety. Shri B Satyadev, Sr GM spoke about the significance of fire service week and Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC gave key note address and distributed the prizes to the winners of various competitions. Shri S A K Sagar anchored the programme and Shri Raju Tawne proposed vote of thanks.

133rd Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was celebrated in NFC. Professor Dr. G.Mallesham, Dean, Development & UGC affairs, Osmania University was the Chief Guest and Dr. Komal kapoor, Chairman and Chief Executive, NFC was the Guest of Honour.
Professor Dr. G.Mallesham spoke extensively on the life and contributions of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, who has struggled throughout his life for eradicating Socio-economic inequalities existing in our society. He also reiterated that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar is a great National Leader and a universal personality.
Dr. Komal Kapoor spoke about the contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to India in many fields and most important contribution was in his role as the Chairman of the Drafting Committee of the Constitution of India.
The senior officials of NFC Administration, Representatives of SC/ST Associations and other Associations of NFC have spoke about the contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Employees in large numbers have participated in the Celebrations and paid rich tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

53rd National safety day was celebrated in Nuclear Fuel Complex, Hyderabad. The theme as announced by the National Safety Council of India is “Focus on Safety Leadership for E.S.G Excellence”. Safety day celebrations at NFC highlighted the importance of improving safety culture at work place by ensuring proper safety measures.
Dr. D.S. Setty, Dy. Chief Executive (EPP, BPS, Bar. Op & Machine Shop) and Chairman (Safety Committee), NFC and representatives of employees addressed the gathering. Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman and Chief Executive, NFC while delivering keynote address appreciated the efforts of all the employees of NFC-Hyderabad in improving the safety performance.
Later, prizes were distributed to the plants for their contribution in following best safe practices and housekeeping. During safety day campaign, various safety competitions like quiz, spot the hazards, slogan and essay writing in Telugu, Hindi and English; drawing of poster contests were organized for the employees. Prizes were distributed to the winners of competitions.
Inauguration of Safety Park Model: Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman and CE, NFC has inaugurated the “Safety Park Model for working on Roof Sheets”. This facility is having demo models for working on roof sheets. It will help in providing the practical training to the employees and outsourced workers. Group Heads, senior officials, representatives of employees and employees were present during the inauguration of the facility.

On the eve of International Women’s Day, NFC has organized a health awareness programme and medical camp on 8th March 2024 focusing on importance of awareness & prevention of women centric diseases. Chief Guest Dr. Suman Kapoor, Consultant Gynecologist gave key note address. Guest Speaker Dr. K. Lalitha Reddy, Oncologist delivered an excellent lecture on “Carcinoma Breast Carcinoma Cervix”. Dr. Rina Kapoor, CMS, NFC has welcomed chief guest and the participants of the programme. Smt. M. Rajasri, GM, NFC addressed the gathering. The event was followed by screening tests of women employees of NFC.
Also a guest lecture by Dr. Archana Sharma, DS & Director, Beam Technology Development Group, BARC was organized on 18.03.2024. She delivered an excellent talk on Nuclear technologies and Non-Power applications.

At arrival she was given Guard of Honor by Central Industrial Security Force. She was accompanied by Dr Komal Kapoor, Chairman and Chief Executive, NFC to various plants of NFC. She had discussions with senior officials of NFC and briefed about the various manufacturing activities and quality aspects of products made by NFC. Various automatic operations and products of NFC were shown to him. Shri N. Rajesh and Dr Komal Kapoor has flagged off First batch of fuel consignment to RAPS-7 (700MWe) PHWR and 700MWe Pressure Tubes for Gorakhpur Haryana Anu Vidut Pariyojana – 1 & 2. A Programme was organized on "Implementation of RTI and Challenges" on 06.02.2024. Shri Heeralal Samariya, The Hon’ble Chief Information Commissioner, Central Information Commission (CIC), New Delhi was the Chief guest of the programme and delivered a key notes on Implementation of RTI, Various rules and guidelines under RTI act, procedure of RTI applications, benefits of RTI, roles of the organization in maintaining the data and replying to the RTI queries etc. The program was attended by many employees along with senior officials.

Nuclear Fuel Complex organised 38th DAE Athletics meet from 31st Jan 2024 to 02nd Feb 2024. The Athletics meet was inaugurated on 31.01.2024 by Chief Guest Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC and guest of honour Shri C Anurag Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of ECIL.
Athletes from eight DAE teams viz. Rameshwaram, Pushkar, Nagarjuna, Golkonda, Ajanta, Ellora, Dwaraka and Konark participated in the meet. The Athletics meet was conducted under the guidance of Athletic Federation, Telangana. Shri G. Gaurahari Das, AGM, NFC was acted as External observer from DAE.
After march-past, scintillating dance performance by schools children of AECS, Hyderabad and oath taking ceremony, events of athletics meets was started. Medals were distributed to winners of the each event. Ellora team won the champion ship. All the events were witnessed and enjoyed thoroughly by huge audience.
Valedictory function was organized on 02.02.2024. The Chief Guest of the Valedictory function Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive of NFC and Guest of Honour Shri N. Ramesh, Dronacharya Awardee-Athletics, National Coach Athletics (Sprints), Sr. Athletics Coach – Sports Authority of India gave the prizes to the winners in various events. Other dignitaries were Shri M.R.S Prasad, Convener (Organizing Committee), Shri D. Sreedhar, Chairman (Ground preparation, Reception, Transport & Accommodation Committee), Shri M.V. Ramana, Chairman (Works Committee), Shri G.N. Ganesha, Chairman (Tournament Committee), and Shri S K Pathak, Chairman (Catering Committee). Many senior officers and representatives from unions / associations of NFC attended the program.

75th Republic Day was jointly celebrated by NFC, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Atomic Energy Central (AEC) Schools, Hyderabad on 26.01.2024. Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC grace the occasion as Chief Guest and hoisted the National flag. Chief Guest inspected the parade along with Parade Commander Shri Rahul Singh Gautam, Commandant, CISF.
AEC School children gave the speeches, performed cultural programmes. CISF has demonstrated their skills with respect to threat mitigation skills and dog squad drills. Fire Services personnel performed fire rescue drill during the celebrations.
Senior officials and representatives of various unions & associations of NFC have participated in the celebrations. Also, a large number of employees, colony residents and students of AEC School attended the program.
Performance of students of AEC Schools, CISF and Fire Service personnel of NFC was the major attractions of the day.

A 100-feet-tall national flagpole that was installed in Nuclear Fuel Complex, Hyderabad as a tribute to the freedom fighters and numerous soldiers who gave their lives for the country is unveiled by Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC on 25th January 2024. Dr. Dinesh Srivastava, Former CE(NFC), Group Heads, Senior Officials, employees and representatives of various unions & associations of NFC has attended the programme.

A quite informative talk on "Smart Manufacturing using Industry 4.0 through Automation" was organized at NFC on January 18, 2024. Shri K. Raghu, the Managing Director of M/s Akrivia Automation Pvt. Ltd., shared valuable insights into implementing automation in the shop floor and discussed various methods like health assessment of equipment, predictive maintenances, breakdown reports etc., to improve productivity, quality, and safety while minimizing human-machine interaction. Additionally, examples were provided to illustrate these concepts for easier comprehension.
The program was also attended by Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive of NFC, along with other senior officials. It's evident that such talks contribute significantly to advancing knowledge and practices in the field of smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0.

World Hindi Day was celebrated grandly on January 10, 2024 at Nuclear Fuel Complex, Hyderabad.
On this occasion, Chief guest of the program, Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman and Chief Executive, NFC greeted everyone on World Hindi Day. In his address, he emphasized to increase the use of Hindi, which is Official Language, even more in our administrative work and technical work as well. He also encouraged using Hindi in the field of Science and technology. He also recommended to use latest technology to learn Hindi. Shri N. Vijayaragavan, Deputy Chief Executive (Administration & Accounts) welcomed the guests, dignitaries and audience present at the function.
On this occasion, special guest and interlocutor Dr. Salil Verma, Senior Scientist, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai presented a technical talk on the topic “Nuclear Reactor Safety”.
Prizes were also distributed to the winners of various Official Language competitions organized during Hindi Fortnight-2023.

Event-I: Cyber Security
As part of Vigilance Awareness Campaign-2023, “Awareness programme on Cyber Security” was organised on 21/09/2023. Shri K. Vinayaka Rao, Chief Manager (Systems), Cyber Security Nodal Officer, SBI, ITS Department, Local Head Office, Hyderabad has delivered lecture.
Event-II: “DAE Vigilance Conclave @ Hyderabad”
“DAE Vigilance Conclave” was jointly organized by all the units of Department of Atomic Energy in Hyderabad on 01/11/2023.
Shri V.P. Raja, IAS (MH Cadre-1974) (Retired), Ex-Principal Advisor to Department of Atomic Energy inaugurated the programme as Chief Guest and delivered a lecture on “Corruption and its prevention in Government Establishments”.
Shri D. Kalyana Chakravarthy, IPS (MP Cadre- 2010 Batch), SP-CBI (Anti-corruption) Guest of Honour has given a lecture on the necessary of Ethics & Good Governance in Government Offices and in Public life.
Other eminent speakers have delivered lectures on key features on GeM and its utility in prevention of corruption and Public Procurement Policy of Government of India.
Balloon Facility of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Hyderabad has released a Kytoon for sensitizing citizens on prevention of corruption.

The dignitaries of the programme stressed the need for an increased awareness on Public Information Disclosure & Protection of Informers (PIDPI) and the need for eradication of corruption for a better societal development and also development of the country.
Event-III: Training on “Role of Inquiry Officer/ Presenting Officer”
As part of Vigilance Awareness Campaign-2023, two days training programme on “Role of Inquiry Officer and Presenting Officer” was organised during 08/11/2023 to 09/11/2023. Shri G. Venkatesan, Director, ATI, Mumbai has delivered lecture.
Event-IV: Walkathon
Walkathon of employees of Department of Atomic establishment in Hyderabad including NFC was held on 04/11/2023 as a part of Vigilance Awareness Campaign.

As per the National call given by Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi on the eve of Commemoration of Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Mahatma Gandhiji and Observance of Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) Campaign theme of ‘Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath’, Nuclear Fuel Complex, a unit of Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, has organized ‘Shramdaan’ at Ashok Nagar, near Mallapur on October 01,2023. Around 500 employees of NFC participated in the event. The team was led by Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC and Senior Officers of NFC. Dr. Komal Kapoor, in his speech advised all the employees to uphold the spirit of Swachhata and practice it on a regular basis.

NFC celebrated the 77th Independence Day in a dignified demeanor. Senior Officials and employees of NFC, Students, Parents, Teachers and Principals of Atomic Energy Central Schools, members from Union & Associations and staff of CISF attended the celebrations in large numbers.
Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive unfurled the National flag. He highlighted the major achievements of NFC and mentioned that NFC has attained self-reliance in fuel production and evolved itself as a multi-faceted organization. The recent developments of NFC include indigenization of a variety of equipment, development of state-of-art automation in manufacturing & Inspection System, manufacture and supply of special tubes for the strategic applications for the Department of Atomic Energy. He also mentioned the achievements of the students of AEC Schools, Hyderabad and motivated them by giving away awards for their exemplary performance.
The colorful program included spellbound performances of patriotic dance and songs by students of AEC Schools, Hyderabad, mesmerizing parade and performances by CISF and Fire Service personnel of NFC.

An exclusive Tool Inspection Facility has been developed for carrying out the inspection of various tooling required for critical process equipments to cater the requirement of precision tubes & components manufacturing. Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC inaugurated the Tool Inspection Facility in presence of NFC Board Members on 03.08.2023. Tool Inspection Facility is equipped with Vision System, Special Purpose Machines and Multi Sensor dimensional measurement system for inspection of various components.

Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC was the Chief Guest for the program on 24.07.2023.
Dr. Komal Kapoor spoke about the need of the education and inspired the students to surpass in the examinations at all levels and reach their goals.The Chief Guest has also advised the school authorities and parents to take keen interest in the children’s education and congratulated the Office-bearers of SC Rights Protection Society, NFC for taking up the initiative of organizing such programs in rural areas.

9th International Day of Yoga was observed in Nuclear Fuel Complex-Kota. The theme as announced by the Ministry of Ayush for the year 2023 is “Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” and the domestic tagline is “Har Aangan Yog”.
A 3-day workshop was organized on this occasion for NFC-Kota employees and their families.The mass yoga sessions conducted at AECS-3 ground during 19-21 June, 2023 aimed at promoting the numerous benefits of practicing yoga and to encourage people to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
On the final day, Shri P A Pratap, Project Director & DCE, NFC-Kota addressed the gathering of about 200 participants, encouraging them to develop a regular yoga & meditation practice. The event was organized by Welfare Committee, NFC-Kota, chaired by Dr. Sunil Goyal (Sr. Manager) with Disha Acharya (SO/E), Shrikant S. Bharud (APO), Abhishek Mehta (SA/E), Ved Prakash (T/F) and Yudhveer Singh (T/D) as members.

Vacuum Baking Oven is used for baking of Graphite Coated PHWR fuel tubes. This is a batch type furnace. As a part of enhancement of plant installed capacity and meet the future demand for PHWR fuel assemblies, new vacuum Baking Oven procured with advanced features like operation through HMI, state of the art vacuum measuring smart gauges, latest PID controllers, OTC controllers, thermocouples, etc. the furnace is procured, installed, commissioned and qualified. It is inaugurated on 20.06.2023 by Dr.Komal Kapoor, Chairman and Chief Executive of NFC. The furnace is put into regular production.

Shri Dinesh Kumar Shukla, Chairman, Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) was the Chief Guest and Dr. Sanjay Kumar Jha, CMD, Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI) was the Guest of Honour for the Event.
Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chief Executive, NFC, highlighting the major achievements of NFC, has mentioned that NFC attained self reliance in fuel production and evolved itself as a multi faceted organization. The recent developments of NFC include indigenization of a variety of equipment, development of state-of-art automated machining centres & Inspection System, automation in production lines, manufacture and supply of special tubes for the strategic applications of the Departments of Atomic Energy.
Dr. Kapoor has stated the progress of a Greenfield Project "NFC-Kota", being set up by NFC at Rawatbhata, Rajasthan for meeting the fuel requirements of forthcoming 700 MWe PHWRs. There has been significant progress in the project activities during the last one year. Recently, Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission & Secretary, Department of Atomic Energy has witnessed the demonstration of first fuel assembly and handed over the first fuel bundle to the Chairman & Managing Director, NPCIL.
Dr. Jha, in his address, has appreciated and congratulated NFC for its achievements. He said that NFC has set a benchmark for production of different products and materials with highest quality and is a pride of India. Imprint of NFC could be found in Defence and Space Programs. Many of the imported components are indigenized together by MIDHANI and NFC.
Shri Shukla has congratulated NFC for its sustained production activities and excellent performance over the years. He also highlighted the vital role of NFC in the Nuclear Power Program of the Country. This could be realized due to effective utilization of skills to full extent, coping with changes and adaptive to Technological advancements. He said that several initiatives have been taken by AREB and implemented for effective regulation of various Nuclear Facilities across the country. He also emphasized the importance of self regulation, innovation, motivation and graded approach for the success of an Organization.
On this occasion, a compendium highlighting the major achievements of NFC during the last five decades was released.
Representatives of various Unions / Associations of NFC like Industrial Workers Union, Supervisory Staff Association, Scientific Assistants Association and Officers Association have spoken on this occasion and assured their cooperation in all endeavors of NFC. Former Chief Executives, senior retired Officers and large number of employees of NFC have witnessed the celebrations.

One day Hindi workshop was organized on 13.05.2023 for the officials working in Administration, Accounts and various Plants for the quarter April-June, 2023 at Nuclear Fuel Complex.
Addressing the inaugural session of the workshop, Shri N. Vijayaraghavan, Deputy Chief Executive (Administration & Accounts), Dr. R. Murugaiah, Chief Administrative Officer, Smt Malini Suresh, Joint Controller (Finance & Accounts) and Shri Kamaluddin, Retd. Assistant Director (Training), Hindi Teaching Scheme, Secunderabad appealed to all to dispose off their official work maximum in Hindi.
On this occasion, various lectures related to Hindi were organized. Shri Kamaluddin deliver lecture on the topic Technical Terminology and Sentence Formation whereas Dr. Rani Gitesh Kate, Hindi Officer, South Central Railway, Secunderabad deliver on the topic Official Language Policy, Official Language Rules and Acts and Dr. Ravichandra Rao, Lecturer, Hindi Teaching Scheme, Secunderabad on Noting and Drafting in Hindi.
Shri Syed Irfan Ali, Assistant Director (Official Language), NFC conducted the programme. Smt P. Sharda, Smt Padmaja and Ms Deepika actively contributed in its successful organisation.

World Day for safety and health at work – 2023 was organized in NFC on 28.04.2023 to create awareness on the importance of ensuring safe and healthy work environments. Shri V.V. Mahesh Kumar, DCE (Safety, HPU,TLD& HR) welcomed the gathering.
Dr. D.S.Setty, Dy. Chief Executive (Utilities, EPC & SR.) and Chairman (Safety Committee), NFC has addressed the gathering, suggested to follow the best practices at workplaces.
Chief Guest of the event, Dr.Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC delivered the key note address on this year theme “A safe and healthy working environment as a fundamental principle and right at work.” He advised about the importance of awareness against occupational hazards, illness and accidents / incidents at work place. He insisted that maintaining of better safe and healthy environment safety at works place is everyone’s responsibility.
DCEs and other senior officials of NFC participated in the event. On the eve of this programme, safety quiz competitions were conducted and prizes were distributed to the winners of competition.

132nd Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was celebrated at NFC.
The new statue of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was unveiled at NFC main Gate by Dr. Komal Kapoor in the presence of Group Heads and employees of NFC.
Prof. R. Limbadri, Chairman, Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE), was the Chief Guest. He spoke extensively on the life and contributions of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
Dr. Komal kapoor spoke about the contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and stated that the country is indebted to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar forever for drafting the Indian Constitution.
The Group Heads of NFC, Representatives of SC/ST Associations and other Associations of NFC have spoke about the contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Employees in large numbers have participated in the Celebrations and paid rich tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

52nd National safety day was celebrated in Nuclear Fuel Complex. The theme as announced by the National Safety Council of India is ‘Our Aim – Zero Harm’. Safety day celebrations at NFC highlighted the responsibility of individuals in following the rules and regulations without fail for improving the safety.
Dr. D.S. Setty, Dy. Chief Executive (Utilities, EPC & SR.) and Chairman (Safety Committee), NFC addressed the gathering. The gathering was also addressed by representatives of employees.
Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman and Chief Executive, NFC while delivering keynote address, appreciated the efforts of all the employees of NFC-Hyderabad in improving the safety culture at work area, reduction in number of incidents when compared with previous years. At the same time, he advised all the employees to be more vigilant at work areas in following safe work practices, responsibility of followings Standard Operating Procedures, identifying the hazards, risks in their work area and taking of immediate corrective actions to prevent any untoward incidents.
Prizes were distributed to the plants for their contribution in following best safe practices and housekeeping. During safety day campaign various safety competitions like quiz, spot the hazards, slogan and essay writing in Telugu, Hindi and English; drawing of poster contests were organized for the employees. Prizes were distributed to the winners of competitions.

Hindi workshop for the quarter January-March, 2023 was conducted on 04/03/2023 for 25 officers working in various sections of Administration and Accounts sections of NFC.
Official Language talk of Dr. Ravi Chandra Rao, Lecturer, Hindi Teaching Scheme (HTS) on the topic ‘Implementation of Official Language at Officer Level’ was covered extensively in order to draw personal attention of officers towards Official Language Policy of Government of India. Besides, a special talk of Dr. Shalabh Saxena, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), NFC was arranged on the topic “Prevention of Heart Attack”.
Shri N.Vijayaragavan, Deputy Chief Executive (A&A), NFC, Dr. R. Murugaiah, Chief Administrative Officer, NFC and Shri Tirumala Rao, Deputy Controller of Accounts, NFC also addressed the officers.
In the beginning, Shri Syed Irfan Ali, Assistant Director (OL), NFC had focused on the importance, aim and purpose of conducting Hindi workshop. Smt P. Sharda, Smt R. Padmaja and Ms. Deepika had contributed actively for the success of workshop.

74th Republic Day was jointly celebrated by NFC, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Atomic Energy Central (AEC) Schools on 26.01.2023. Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC was the Chief Guest. He hoisted the National flag and inspected the parade. Parade Commander Shri Rahul Singh Gautam, Commandant, CISF accompanied him.
AEC School children gave the speeches. Demonstration of the dog squad and drill were conducted by CISF. NFC Fire Service personnel presented fire drill during the celebrations.
Senior officers and representatives of various unions & associations of NFC have participated in the celebrations. Also, a large number of employees, colony residents and students of AEC School attended the program.

World Hindi Day was celebrated in NFC on 10.01.2023. In his inaugural remarks, Dr Komal Kapoor, Chief Executive, NFC stressed upon to use Official Language to maximum extent in day to day official work. At the outset, Shri N. Vijayaragvan, Deputy Chief Executive (Admn & Accts) welcomed the dignitaries and participants present in the function and appealed to dispose of official work in Hindi. Shri Syed Irfan Ali, Assistant Director (OL) briefed the importance of World Hindi Day and appraised the implementation status of official language in NFC.
On this Occasion, a lecture of Dr P.K. Jain, Associate Director, International Advance Research Center, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India was arranged on the Topic "Indian Culture and its Science". Besides, prizes were distributed among the winners of various competitions conducted during HINDI FORTNIGHT-2022.
Smt Sangeeta R. Nakhwa, Administrative Officer-III presented vote of thanks. Shri Mohd. Majid, Smt Soni Rawat, Smt P. Sharada and Kum Deepika contributed actively for the success of programme.
